The Greek Library of London is an independent, non-profit cultural organisation established in 2017, dedicated to promoting Greek literature, language and culture throughout the United Kingdom. It provides access to a substantial collection of Greek books, including approximately 5,000 titles for adults and 1,000 titles for children and young people, encouraging reading and making Greek literature accessible to a wider audience.
The Mission
The mission of the Greek Library of London is to promote Greek language, literature and culture in the UK, preserve Greek cultural heritage, encourage reading among children and adults, and foster cultural exchange and understanding between Greek and British communities.
The Hanna Foundation is proud to support the Greek Library of London in establishing its first home in Camden. The Library promotes access to Greek language, literature and culture, and the new venue will host educational programmes, workshops, book clubs and community activities for children, young people and adults.
This grant reflects our charitable objective of promoting Greek culture and advancing public education in Greek civilisation and language.
